Affiliations

SEI's professionals are affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI), American Concrete Institute (ACI), and the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE), and are active at their local chapters. Our president, Dr. Leon Lai, P.E., S.E. is also very active in national ASCE activities and has presented many technical papers at their conferences. (To view a sample of selected publications, click Research.)  He is also affiliated with the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI), which continually promotes innovative ideas for earthquake risk mitigation. SEI also maintains close relationships with Drexel University and Lehigh University where the Fritz Engineering Laboratory and ATLSS laboratory are located. This enables SEI to conduct research and obtain state-of-the-art technology and information, and efficiently acquire laboratory testing services.
